Fragile Environment

What is fragile environment?

Fragile Environment is an environment that is easily destroyed and it will be difficult to fix it. For example a wine glass, if you throw it or drop it it will fall into pieces. When it fall into pieces, there is only a small chance for you to fix it. That thing could also happen with our environment, such as ant. If you just squeeze an ant it will die directly. Also l

eaves if you pick just one leave it will affect its life. Those are the two examples of a fragile environment.

Sumatra Forest

Sumatra’s forest is one of the fragile environment. Lots of logging happen in this forest and people keep burning the plants. Burning plants and logging  affects the habitat of some endangered animals, such as Sumatran rhinoceros, tiger, the Asian elephant, the Sumatran orangutan and the Sumatran rabbit.

Burning the plants will also affects people living in that area. It affects the people because of the smoke that is covering the area and because of that the health of many people is in danger. Besides that burning also changes the climate.

Logging affects the global warming, because of logging the CO2 will reduce. Day by day at least one person will give birth and people will need houses. So, they have to cut down trees even though they know that what they are doing is illegal.

In Sumatra Forest there lived animals with different kind of species. There are 3 most endangered animals living in this forest. The animals are Sumatran rhinoceros, Sumatran tiger and Asian elephant. Most of the hunters hunt tigers. They hunt tigers to make products with tiger’s bones and the other part of the tiger. China is the largest producer.

So, start to save our environment.

Waterfall

Hi everyone, do you know where did grade 5 go for their field trip? Have you ever been to a waterfall before? Do you realize how beautiful is your environment? Well, keep reading this article to find out where did grade 5 go for their field trip.

On the 13th of May grade 5 went to the waterfall in Mount Pancar. This will be grade 5's last field trip. First of all we go by the bus to Mount Pancar and then we have to walk through the rocky roads to be at the waterfall. Some people help us to walk. It was really hard for some of us because we never hike before. The road was very rocky, full of trees and holes that make our walk even harder. The road is also very small and mud was everywhere. The mud makes the road became very slippery. We were very tired and some of us started complaining. The sun was very bright that day. So, lucky for us. Finally we made to the waterfall. We all shouted "EUREKA!" means we found it. Then, we started taking of our shoes and ran of to the waterfall. SPLASH! as we jump in. We all have fun together. We started taking pictures and the teachers was only standing up waiting for us to finish playing with the water. We may not get near the water that had just went down because we might get hurt. We have about 10 minutes to play with the water because we have another 4 kilometers to pass. We all change our clothes and start eating in a place that is called "lesehan" its in Indonesian. After we eat we started our LONG walk. Me, Michelle T and Mrs Jane walk very slowly because we started to enjoy the environment. This time we walk through the other path because we want to experience other things. This road is better than the one before. Its bigger and the road were not really rocky.
When we finally made it to the bus, we started cheering. There is another problem. The problem is that the air conditioner doesn't work, but its ok at least we don't have to walk to the school.

So, that is grade 5 field trip to Mount Pancar. Are you interested of going to Mount Pancar? If you are directly order a ticket to Indonesia.

My Holiday to Europe and Bangkok

Have you ever been to Europe? Do you know where did I go for my holiday? Do you know how beautiful is Europe? Well, during my holiday I went to Spain, Rome and Bangkok. I stayed in Spain for 4 days. I stayed in Rome for 2 days and also 2 days in Bangkok. I went there with my family.

It took us 40 hours to go to Spain, because first we had to go to Taipei, then Bangkok, after that Rome, Milan and ended in Spain. When we arrived at Spain my dad's friends were waiting for us in the airport. After that they left us in the hotel. We didn't go anywhere because we arrived at 11 p.m. The next morning we went to see the festival. Its called "Fallas" (fayas). It was the festival where some people who lived in Valencia had to make some kind of a statue. The nicest statue will win. This year the theme was "Fairy tales from Europe". Those statue were very nice but only one group won. This group won for 5 years in a row. This year they used 13 million rupiah just to make the statue. We saw the "Fallera" (fayera) also. People called the ladies and girls who wear dresses like princesses on Fallas, Fallera. Babies could also join in this festival. The man and boys also had this kind this festival, but they wear the one for the man, of course. They called "Fallero" (fayero). They only had this festival for once in a year.
There is also this festival where we have to throw tomatoes to each other. This festival called "Tomatina". You have to wear the goggles, so that the tomato seed wouldn't hit your eyes. This festival will happen on August.

After that we went to Rome. We didn't do a lot of things in Rome because it is a small city. We went to the fountain and the Vatican City only. In the fountain we throw coins to make wishes. Vatican city is a famous place in Rome.

Then we went to Bangkok. Bangkok is our last destination. We didn't go to a lot of place, but we went to this place where the gay perform. It was very funny. Most of the gay were like real ladies because they make this operation and change their bodies and faces exactly the same like other ladies. This place called Mambo.
After that we went back to our home sweet home, Indonesia.

So, that is my holiday. Are you interested to go to Europe and Bangkok?

Digital Portfolios Reflection

In this year so far I made three digital portfolios. A blog, a Google page maker and the one that I am now working on which is an iWeb. They are not really different from each other, but the way you make it, is different. Blog and Google page maker is similar you have to make it on the Internet but iWeb is a program that Mac had. So, we just make it on the computer.

The Blog
I have been making this blog since the first time I came to grade 5. It was in August. Making the blog is a really fun thing to do for me. I could change the template, put the glitter graphics and the flash toys. I put my summaries there, my reflections and all of the work that I've made this year. Making a blog taught me a lot of new technologies. I also learned how to edit blogs, puts pictures into the blog, change templates and it was really fun, even though I got a lot of problems.

Goggle Page Maker
I start making googlepages since November 2007. Making googlepages is harder than to make the blog. It was a little bit to complicated for me because you have to link all the pages to the page that you have just created. You also have to make sure that all of the links in your googlepages works and you have to make sure that you publish the page. It was also harder than blogger because if you want to change the templates you have to do it one by one and it takes longer time to do it. In this activity I learned that making a website is not that easy. Actually, when I was still in grade 4 I really want to make a website.

iWeb
I started making the iWeb on January 2008. I think its the same like blog you just have to type and insert the pictures. The difference is that you have to make blogs on the Internet but with iWeb you just make it on the computer and I think iWeb is available only on Macintosh.

Chapter 24

Mr Wonka bring them to the nut room. THE NUT ROOM it was said on the door.

Ok, said Mr Wonka. Let's stop here for a while and take look. Please don't get in there because you will disturb the squirrels.
Oh look, grandpa look! cried Charlie

'Squirrels!' shouted Veruca Salt

It was a really good view. There were one hundred squirrels sitting down on a huge table with lots of nuts. They were shelling nuts really fast.

These squirrels are trained to shell those nuts! Mr Wonka explained.

Why squirrels? asked Mike Teavee. "Why not use Oompa Loompas?

"Because,' answer Mr Wonka. "Oompa Loompas always break them into two pieces. The squirrels were wonderful isn't they. Look! Watch that squirrel! He got the bad one they threw it away to the big hole on the floor."

"Mummy!" shouted Veruca Salt. "I've decide that I wanted a squirrel! Get me one of them!"

"No, you can't sweetheart." said Mrs Salt. "They belong to Mr Wonka."

"I don't care!" shouted Veruca. "I want one. All I got is those silly animals. I want a squirrel!"

"All right." Mrs Salt said. " I will get you a squirrel soon."

"But I don't want any squirrel. I want a trained squirrel." said Veruca

"Well, then Mr Wonka. Name your price for one of those squirrel." said Mr Salt

"They are not for sale. She can't have one." said Mr Wonka

"Who says I can't!" shouted Veruca. "I'm going to get in then."

No don't! Mr Wonka said quickly, but he is too late Veruca already got in.

When she entered the room, the squirrels stopped shelling the nuts and they all stared at her.

Veruca stopped and look at them. Then she know which one will she chose. It was the little one who is holding a walnut.

"Ok" Veruca said. "I want you."

She is trying to grab the squirrel....but as she did....all the squirrels on the table running towards her and cover all of her body. Her arms and her legs was all covered.

And one of them (the leader) were tapping Veruca's head.

"Save her!" Mrs Salt shouted. "Veruca! What are they doing?"

" They're trying to see if she is a bad nut." said Mr Wonka. "Watch"

Veruca can't stop moving, but the squirrels were so strong. The leader of the squirrels is still tapping Veruca's head.

Then the squirrels pulled Veruca across the floor.

"Oh, she is a bad nut." Mr Wonka said. "Her head must sound hollow."

Veruca kicked and shouted, but the strong paws still holding her.

"Where are they going to take her?" asked Mrs Salt

"She is going to the pipe that goes to the rubbish bin!" said Mr Wonka

"Oh no, she is going to the bin!" said Mr Salt, staring to his daughter as she goes down the pipe.

"SAVE HER!" cried Mrs Salt

"Too late", said Mr Wonka. "She is gone."

"But where is the bin?" asked Mr Salt

"It was in a place where there is fish heads, floor dirt, potatoes skin and all kind of rubbish." explained Mr Wonka

"Who eats fishes and potatoes in here?" asked Mike Teavee

"I do." answered Mr Wonka

"But where does the pipe go to at the end?" asked Mrs Salt

"Oh, it goes to the place where you burned the rubbish." Mr Wonka said calmly

Mrs Salt opened her mouth and screamed

"Don't worry", said Mr Wonka. " There is a chance that they wouldn't burn it today".

"Only a chance!" yelled Mrs Salt. "Veruca will be fried like a sausage!"

"Almost, my dear" said Mr Salt. "Now see here, Wonka" he added. "You can't turned my daughter into a crisp. I will be very angry.

"Oh, don't be angry, my dear sir!" said Mr Wonka. " She might be stuck in the pipe, all you have to do is pull her up again."

As long as Veruca's parents heard what Mr Wonka said they both ran over to the nut room.

"Veruca!" shouted Mrs Salt. "Are you there?"

But nobody answer.

Mrs Salt took a closer look. She knee down in the edge of the hole. And then the squirrel behind her gave here a push.

"Oh,no!" said Mr Salt. As he watched his wife get down the pipe. "What is it like down there, Angina?" asked Mr Salt to his wife.

He move forward a bit.

Then a squirrel pushed him....

"HELP" he shouted

But he already slip down the pipe

"Oh,no!" cried Charlie, " What is going to happen to them now?"

"I hope someone will catch them." said Mr Wonka.

"Listen, here is another song." said Grandpa Joe

'Veruca Salt!' sang the Oompa-Loompas.

'Veruca Salt, the little brute,

Has just gone down the rubbish chute

(And as we very rightly thought

That in a case like this we ought

To see the thing completely through,

We've polished off her parents, too).

Down goes Veruca! Down the drain!

And here, perhaps, we should explain

That she will meet, as she descends,

A rather different set of friends

To those that she has left behind —

These won't be nearly so refined.

A fish head, for example, cut

This morning from a halibut.

"Hello! Good morning! How d'you do?

How nice to meet you! How are you?"

And then a little further down

A mass of others gather round:

A bacon rind, some rancid lard,

A loaf of bread gone stale and hard,

A steak that nobody could chew,

An oyster from an oyster stew,

Some liverwurst so old and grey

One swelled it from a mile away,

A rotten nut, a reeky pear,

A thing the cat left on the stair,

And lots of other things as well,

Each with a rather horrid smell.

These are Veruca's new-found friends

That she will meet as she descends,

And this is the price she has to pay

For going so very far astray.

But now, my dears, we think you might

Be wondering — is it really right

That every single bit of blame

And all the scolding and the shame

Should fall upon Veruca Salt?

Is she the only one at fault?

For though she's spoiled, and dreadfully so,

A girl can't spoil herself, you know.

Who spoiled her, then? Ah, who indeed?

Who pandered to her every need?

Who turned her into such a brat?

Who are the culprits? Who did that?

Alas! You needn't look so far

To find out who these sinners are.

They are (and this is very sad)

Her loving parents, MUM and DAD.

And that is why we're glad they fell

Into the rubbish chute as well.'

Charlie and the Chocolate Factory Chapter Summary

The sun was bright, but the ground was still covered with snow on the morning of the big day.

In front of the gates there were a group of people wanted to watch the lucky winners get in the factory. They were pushing and shouting and the policeman was trying to hold them with their arms so that they wouldn't get inside the factory.

Beside the gates, there were five children with their parents beside them.

Grandpa Joe could be seen standing quietly with little Charlie Bucket holding grandpa's hand tightly.

The other kids, except Charlie had their parent with them and it was good so their parent could hold them from getting in the factory.

Everybody in the crowd remembered each one of the lucky winners.

Charlie squeezed grandpa's hand and grandpa looked at him and smiled. Then the clock strike ten. The crowd became very silent and they were starring on the gates. Slowly the gate opens.
There he is!! somebody shouted.

What will you be doing in 10 years time?

In ten years time I'll be 21 years old and I want to take my college in America ( not sure ) and I will took business class. I also want to work in my free time, like when I don't have any schedule I could work in a restaurant or I could give lesson to the youth. I choose business class because I wanted to be a business woman. I wanted to know how to trade and other things that are connected to business.

Why are you interested in that?

I am interested to be a business woman because I was impresed with my parents who were sucessful people, they never give up and they were hard-working people and I wanted to be just like both of them.

How do you plan to make that happen?

I will start working really hard from now on. I will study from my mistakes and will never repeated again. I will start reading books about important things, not only novels like High School Musical. I also wanted to learn a lot of language so that I can easilly communicate with other people who speaks different languages.

How can the teachers help you with it?

My teachers can help me by teaching me a lot about business. They also can help me to be a good communicator and teach me all different kinds of languages.

Where will you be in 20 years time?

In 20 years time I will be 31 and I want to finish my master degree. I will be married and have children. I would like to be a sucessful business woman and have a good husband.
